"However, once freed from the cycle of rebirth the Buddhist has the choice of either remaining in a non-physical state or they can choose to take on a physical body again. The latter path is that of the Bodhisattva and corresponds to the earlier mentioned Gnostic goal of overcoming the Demiurge not to escape the physical world, but to perfect/repair it. The Bodhisattva vow is to continue to be reborn until every sentient being has reached enlightenment."
